Snowy Anniversary Session.
The other night, I was driving home from a birth story in Layton, and it was pouring snow. I made a deal with myself this year that I wanted to try really hard this year to find reasons to love Winter. Normally, I dread it, but I really want to love it. We haven’t had a ton of snow where we live in Orem this year, so when I got home from Layton and it was still snowing in Orem, I decided I wanted to shoot in it ASAP! I posted on Instagram to find a couple for the next morning. I went to sleep and woke up to find out that Jacob and Elysa could do it!!
I actually shot Jacob and Elysa’s wedding almost exactly FOUR YEARS AGO!! Their formals were in a blizzard just like this one, so it was actually such a fun time for us to reminisce. They moved away from Utah not long after they got married, then moved around to a few different states, and just barely moved back to Utah! Literally just in time for this snowy anniversary session. It honestly could not have been timed any better! Plus, now they have two littles added to their family, too, even though they aren’t in the photos.
I wanted to shoot at the Lindon Marina again (honestly, guys, I love how close this place is to my home, but I also love how accessible it is ALL YEAR ROUND!). It still took me about 25 minutes to get there when it usually takes 10 because the roads were so bad! But as usual, the lake was so pretty. The snow falling was also so pretty. What is it about snow falling that makes time feel like it stops? It’s actually just so so cool.
